Report 42: Women Empowerment through Micro Enterprise: Effects of the Kakayahan Program on Women in Two Urban Poor Communities
This study aims to find out the effect of the KAKAYAHAN microenterprise development program on the lives of its women beneficiaries. It intends to do this by examining the situation of the urban poor women beneficiaries from two of the Program’s conduit-organizations – the Kapisanang Pangkaunlaran ng Kababaihang Potrero (KPKP), a women’s NGO based in Malabon and, Tagumpay sa Pag-unlad, Inc. (TPI), a community organization based in Quezon City. These groups are among the very first recipients of loans under the KAKAYAHAN Program.
