 Description:

This paper further develops TB-DOTS-CHE by incorporating social marketing principles in its advocacy component in order to help the community to own and achieve TB control. The pilot community in Mandaluyong City is Block 38, Welfareville, Barangay Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City. A baseline survey of 1230 households on their knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) on TB was conducted by CHE Committee Members and CHE Volunteers on March 16 to 27, 2009. The results are consistent with previous studies that show that about half of the-respondents still lacked the correct knowledge on TB symptoms, transmission, treatment and prevention.
