This project proposal seeks to address the critical yet underexplored issue of land rights for rural women, a subject that remains largely neglected despite its profound implications for social justice and equity. Historically, land reform movements have focused on class struggles, often sidelining the specific challenges faced by rural women in accessing and owning land. While existing laws theoretically support land ownership for women, in practice, rural women frequently encounter barriers as male family members prioritize their claims. This project aims to illuminate and document the contradictions and discrimination faced by rural women in land ownership, providing a foundation for their voices to be heard and their rights to be asserted, ultimately paving the way for more inclusive and effective land reform policies.
