Recognizing that environmental issues have often been viewed as primarily men’s concerns, the project seeks to address the underrepresentation of women in environmental initiatives, as their involvement is crucial for effective resource protection and sustainable practices. Over the course of one year, the project will focus on mainstreaming a gender and development framework in selected DENR programs, fostering awareness among employees and communities about the symbiotic relationship between people and the environment. By promoting inclusive participation, the initiative aims to improve environmental outcomes and ensure that both men and women can contribute to and benefit from sustainable resource management.
